A blindfolded adventure into the unknown realms of taste
The Mystery Taste Test is a game where each player’s tastebuds are challenged with identifying a variety of foods or drinks. The only thing you’ll be armed with is a taste for the unexpected, a sense of humor, and maybe a bucket for the less palatable rounds!
Think you’ve got the guts to confront the ambiguities of this culinary conundrum?
Let’s set the table:
- First, assemble a selection of different foods and drinks. We’re talking the full spectrum here – sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. And don’t forget the wild card options – pickles in honey, anyone?
- One player (designated as the “Taste-Tester”) is blindfolded. The goal of our brave Taste-Tester is to identify the food or drink they’re given, purely through taste.
- Then, another player (let’s call them the “Feeder”) selects a food or drink item from the assortment. The weirder the selection, the more exciting the game gets.
- The Feeder gives the Taste-Tester a small portion of the chosen item to taste. Remember, safety first – make sure the portion is bite-size, and the Taste-Tester is ready before feeding them.
- The Taste-Tester must identify what they’ve just tasted. Remember, the Taste-Tester is flying blind here. No peeking, no hints, and definitely no smells!
- If the Taste-Tester guesses correctly, they score a point. If they guess incorrectly, the Feeder scores a point. A round is completed once everyone has had a chance to be the Taste-Tester.
- Continue through as many rounds as you’d like, or until you’ve exhausted your pantry. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner. Or the survivor, depending on how adventurous your food choices were!
